The Gadsden flag is a fully printed nylon flag. This historical flag symbolizes the colonists resolve to become an independent country. The “Don't Tread On Me” rattlesnake symbol represented the warning to all countries trying to control our new country. Historical U.S. Flags sold by Flags International are Made in the USA. This Gadsden flag can be flown on a wall-mounted flagpole set or on an in-ground flagpole.
One of the first Rattlesnake flags was devised by Colonel Gadsden of South Carolina. It was claimed to be flown by Commodore Esek Hopkins, first Commander of the Continental fleet. The inscription was intended as a warning to the British-meaning it was as dangerous to tread on the colonies as it would be to step on a rattlesnake.
