California Flag with Staff and Spear
Flags International is proud to offer this California Flag with Staff and Spear. The current flag of California is meant to be a recreation of the original Californian flag that was lost in the devastating earthquake of 1906. California was without a state flag until 1911. The grizzly bear that appears on the white field is now extinct but in 1846 would have been an ideal symbol of ferocity. Adopted in 1849, the grizzly bear also appears in the state seal. Annin state flags are made from 100% SolarMax nylon. This material, developed especially for the flag industry, is engineered to resist damage from the sun’s UV rays. 4in x 6in flags come on a 3/16in x 10″ black plastic staff with gold spear tip finial. 8in x 12in flags are carefully hemstitched on all four sides for longer lasting beauty. 8in x 12in flags come on a 1/4in x 18in black wood staff with gold blunt spear finial.
