Illinois Flag with Staff and Spear
Flags International is proud to offer this Illinois Flag with Staff and Spear. In 1915 the Daughters of the American Revolution were instrumental in organizing a competition for the design of the state flag. Some of their members designed the winning flag bearing the state seal. The seal consists of an eagle standing on a rock with a red ribbon bearing the state motto in its mouth. A shield bearing the Stars and Stripes leans on the rock and a laurel wreath. 4in x 6in flags come on a 3/16in x 10″ black plastic staff with gold spear tip finial. 8in x 12in flags are carefully hemstitched on all four sides for longer lasting beauty. 8in x 12in flags come on a 1/4in x 18in black wood staff with gold blunt spear finial.
