Ohio Flag with Staff and Spear
Flags International is proud to offer this Ohio Flag with Staff and Spear. Ohio’s state flag was adopted in 1902 and is the only state flag that is not rectangular. Architect John Eisemann designed the Ohio state burgee (a pennant with a swallowtail tip.) ” in the center of the blue field is thought to represent both the name Ohio and the buckeye. The buckeye is a round nut from the buckeye tree found in abundance in Ohio giving it its nickname “The Buckeye State.” Thirteen white stars surround the letter O representing the original thirteen states. Five red and white stripes complete the Ohio state flag. 4in x 6in flags come on a 3/16in x 10″ black plastic staff with gold spear tip finial. 8in x 12in flags are carefully hemstitched on all four sides for longer lasting beauty. 8in x 12in flags come on a 1/4in x 18in black wood staff with gold blunt spear finial.
